We import all the fabrics for our shirts directly from top-quality suppliers in Italy and stitch them in our own workshop in Madrid. We don't outsource to Far East or subcontract production like most online tailors – we do it all ourselves, under Ramon's expert eye. That means we can offer high-quality shirts at such competitive prices without compromising on the fabric or the styling. Our Story

With three decades of bespoke shirt-making experience, first in Madrid, and now in London, we're dedicated to the art of the shirt. It's our experience, and our passion. Our senior tailor is Ramon Santamaria (that's his signature in our logo and on all our creations), and his skill, expertise and attention to detail have made him one of Spain's most respected (and award- winning) shirt makers. Now his daughter, Ana, with her husband Alex, are bringing the same high standards to London, and the internet. Online tailoring doesn't have to mean compromise. Whether it's a new look for the office, for formal wear or something stylish when you're heading out for the evening, you'll get quality Italian fabrics and traditional British style with a distinctive Spanish flair.

1968

The Beginning

Young Ramon Santamaria, aged 16, starts his first internship at one of Madrid's mostrenowned tailors, Jaime Gallo, who worked by appointment to King Alfonso XIII of Spain.

1973

First Achievement

Ramon receives Spain's prestigious young tailor of the year award for the first time from Spain's Head of State. He'd win it again the very next year.

1987

Beginning in Madrid

Ramon opens his own tailoring shop in Madrid, dedicated to the art of the shirt. His premier shop is still there today, outfitting the city's most stylish clientele.

2014

Global Reach

Ramon's daughter, Ana, now based in London, takes Santamaria online, with a determination to maintain her father's high standards.

2016

First UK Store in Notting Hill

Santamaria opens its first UK store in Notting Hill, London. The perfect place to experience the Santamaria effect.

2024

New Store

Moved to larger premises in Kensington and added thoughtfully curated stocklists to our product offering.

2026

A New Chapter

We launched our new website. Alongside our made-to-measure and custom pieces, we introduced ready-made shirts and a curated menswear selection, making it easier to experience the Santamaria standard in more ways.

Meet the Family

Ramon Santamaria

Master Shirt Maker

Ramon began his tailoring career in Madrid in 1968. Twice-winner of the young tailor of the year award, he's since built a highly successful business catering to the well-dressed menfolk of Madrid, counting politicians, royalty and celebrities among his patrons.

Ana

Founder and Head of UK Operations

With her famous tailor father, and her mother looking after the family business, Ana grew up immersed in the bespoke tailoring world. Swapping Madrid for the London College of Fashion, she determined to update the Santamaria experience for the digital age, launching Santamaria's first website from the UK.

Elisa

“La Jefa”

Elisa, Ana’s mum, has been running the Spanish side of the business for more than 25 years, a true expert in all parts of the process of making and delivering exquisite bespoke shirts. 

Diego

Logistics Spain

Diego, Ana’s brother, ensures that everything runs smoothly from receiving the orders in the Spanish workshop to shipping the bespoke garments to the UK store.
